Do or Don’t: Clé de Peau Beauté Skin Care Review

Cle de Peau Beauté, among makeup enthusiasts, is well-known and well-loved for their concealers and so when the brand came out with its skin line, makeup hoarders like me were ecstatic.

So I got the set that includes with the Hydro Softening Lotion ($100), Le Serum ($325) and Le Crème ($535), which was recommended for my skin type. Since I’m in my 50s, my skin tends to get a little bit dry, although my T-zone does get a little bit oily.

How to use it:

  • Apply Le Serum first. A little goes a long way.
  • With a cotton pad, put on the Hydro Softening lotion (toner).
  • Lastly, apply the cream.

First impression: the presentation of this set is incredibly beautiful – with its diamond-inspired packaging. What girl wouldn’t be excited to open up the package?

In addition, you would notice from the step guide, Clé de Peau Beauté has a different and distinct skin regimen. Normally, as many skincare enthusiasts would know, you would apply the toner (Hydro Softening Lotion) first, then the serum and cream. But with Clé de Peau Beauté, it’s the reverse.

I was so sure that they had it wrong and even tried correcting the saleslady, but she insisted this was the correct way. To help me see the effects of the traditionally done regimen and Clé de Peau Beauté’s recommended steps, she applied the products onto my skin both ways. Admittedly, Clé de Peau Beauté offered the better results.

All-in all, the Clé de Peau Beauté set is a bit pricey, but it delivers on its promise – making skin look hydrated, soft and fresh looking. It definitely did its work.
