18 May CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT: NIKKI GIL
What makeup do you usually carry in your bag?
I usually just bring a compact (I use MAC’s studio fix powder), blush, lipstick, a retractable brush, eye drops and an eyelash curler.
Where do you go makeup shopping?
I usually hoard when I’m abroad, mostly in Sephora. But I also enjoy going through the makeup aisles of pharmacies for cheap drugstore make up. 🙂
Everyday/ go-to look?
I’m very “Tita” in that I never leave the house without fixing up. You’ll never know who you might bump into! But I don’t always put on a FULL face. At the very least, I’ll do foundation, contour, blush, eyebrows, mascara and lipstick/tint for a soft “barely there” look. 🙂
Beauty advice you know to be true?
No matter how much makeup you pile on, if you’re not a nice person, it’ll show and you instantly become unattractive.
What’s your morning/evening routine?
As much as I’d like to join the K-beauty bandwagon and have 10 steps to maintain good skin, i only have 2 steps: At night, I remove my make up (with micellar water and a cotton pad) and wash my face (with Cetaphil. Super basic.). Every other week I’ll exfoliate with a facial scrub. And when I get the occasional zit, I use some spot treatment product. In the morning, I wash my face with cold water and put on a light moisturizer. I’m pretty minimalist when it comes to skin care. 🙂
Who’s your favorite makeup artist?
Steven Doloso has always been a fave. Most of the ads I’ve done in the past were by him. 🙂
Who’s your beauty icon?
Jessica Alba for skin and make up and Kate Middleton for just about everything else!
I am currently obsessed with Fenty Beauty’s foundation (I’m a Medium Neutral 200). But my staples are K-palette’s 24 hour brow tattoo, Nuxe’s Reve de Miel lip balm, and Benefit’s Hoola powder. 🙂
