04 Nov DRUGSTORE BEAUTY.
It’s been a couple of months since I posted my drugstore makeup haul. I love drugstore makeup shopping and I find myself spending more time going through each aisle at Ulta or Target when I’m exploring what’s out there. Looking good doesn’t have to break the bank but it does involve a lot of trial and error to get the best fit for each person.
I’ve been wanting to do this post for a while but I was so sad that L’Oréal discontinued one of my favorite foundations – Magic Nude Liquid Powder ($12.95). So it took some time for me to figure out which my next favorite drugstore foundation was. After testing out a couple foundations, the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation ($7.99) is my new go-to. My skin always looks flawless and healthy when I wear this foundation but I do use a luminous primer to make it look even healthier. The L’Oréal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer ($12.99) goes great with the foundation.
To conceal, I still stick to my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer ($8.99) and to contour I chose the LA Girl HD Pro Conceal ($5). To be honest, I don’t know if I’m just not entirely fond of the packaging and squeezing the product out of a tube or I can never get the right shade but I think I could still find something better. I set the contour with a mix of Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer ($14.99) and the NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette ($24.99). To highlight, I chose a liquid illuminator to keep it natural so I went with L’Oréal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in Rose ($12.99).
The next three products are my absolute favorites. For blush (I pretty much use this every time I get ready) I used the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso ($7.99). It’s really not an in-your-face kind of blush. You just get that subtle coral glow that I really enjoy. The lippy was a tough choice because there were so many other contenders but I really enjoy wearing the NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Cashmere Silk ($6.99). It’s the perfect shade for me and I love the creamy formula. I’m saving the best for last… So for mascara (I have not stopped using this since I bought it in July) I grabbed the L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ($9.99). It was so hard to find this mascara because it was mostly sold out at the time I was looking for it but OH MY GOD. What it does to my lashes is unreal. I don’t have the waterproof formula because I don’t like waterproof mascaras but even the non-waterproof formula keeps my lashes lifted and keeps the curl in place.
Losing track of time is best when you’re buying makeup and the best place to do it is in the drugstore.
