If you know me, you’ll understand how important my hair is. I’ve done some pretty heartless things to my hair but I do make up for it now by taking good care of it.

When I was a teenager, I used to perm my hair once a year. I didn’t know how bad I would damage it until I started changing my hair color along with that. Finally, my hair dresser asked me to stop perming my hair because it was doing more damage than good. It got to a point where my hair was just dead – no life, no volume; it looked like hay.

He asked me how many times I shampoo my hair and my answer shocked him. Living in the Philippines most my life, I’ve been accustomed to showering twice a day because of the humidity. With that came shampooing my hair everyday as well. This is a big no-no. Washing my hair everyday made it so dry with no natural oil (sebum) left to nourish my hair and scalp.

Seeing my hair so dead put me in straight panic mode. And I think my mom noticed that so she gave me the Macadamia Natural Healing Oil treatment. This product honestly was a game changer for me. It brought back moisture into my hair and made my hair extra smooth.

From then on, I changed up my hair routine. I started deep conditioning twice a week, leaving the conditioner on for at least 10 minutes. I also started shampooing every other day. I used my Alterna Caviar Anti-aging Dry Shampoo on days I didn’t wash my hair. You cannot imagine the improvement in my hair.

The other product I started using last year is the It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-in plus Keratin. I alternate back and fourth between this and my Macadamia Natural Healing Oil treatment specially on days that I don’t deep condition. I know most people would put this on dry hair but I find it best when I put it right after I shower and comb through it.

All the products I’ve tried from Macadamia Natural, Alterna and It’s A 10 have really changed my hair game for the better.
