21 Feb HAIRSTYLIST SPOTLIGHT: JAYMAR LAHAYLAHAY
How did you start ?
I started out in the business as a floor sweeper in Hairworks salon then I was promoted as a Junior Stylist. After 5 years, I moved to Lourd Ramos’ Creations salon as a freelance hairstylist, where I was able to grow my clientele.
Where do you buy your tools and products?
Every year, I attend the Hair Asia event at the World Trade Center. I buy there because the products are affordable haha.
Top 5 must have in your kit ?
Blower, curling iron, roller brush, hairspray, hairpins.
What’s is the best hair advice you know to be true?
Make sure to always dry your hair before you leave the house. Wet hair is a breeding ground for bacteria that may damage your scalp and will make your hair dry and brittle.
Favorite brands and why?
For me, I do not use only 1 particular brand or product because every client has a different type or texture of hair and different needs. I use whatever product I think will be best for my client’s hair at that particular moment.
Katrina Ponce Enrile, Kim Chiu, MayMay Entrata, Edward Barber, Ysabel Ortega, Jona Viray, Kisses Delavin,
Secrets you wouldn’t share with others?
That when there are times I can’t get my client’s hair to do what I want it to do, I close my eyes and say a silent prayer. hahaha!
Whose hair would you love to do?
MayMay Entrata, & Kim Chiu.
How do you keep up with new trends?
I always research on the current hair trends and I always consider myself as a newbie so that I am more aggressive in learning new techniques and styles.
What are the techniques from the past that you cannot live without ?
Maybe its how to curl hair using just a hair blower and roller brush
