When I look back at the first few times I was mesmerized by the application of makeup, there is no doubt that RB Chanco was the painter behind the beautiful canvas (which usually was my mom). Studying Fashion Design in College of Saint Benilde with my cousin Ina, RB never imagined that she would rock the industry through makeup.

She was both a student and a teacher every time she would come over – learning old tricks from my mom and teaching me her own a long the way. In every milestone in life, RB was there to carefully construct and prepare our faces for it. From birthdays to proms to weddings and even to launch this blog, she was the person behind our glammed up look. She was even there to help me pick out my first ever makeup kit at MAC in Glorietta.

RB has obviously come a long way from being behind the counters of MAC to becoming the “makeup artist of the Universe”, and now an official MAC Glambassador. But to us, the MakeupAddicts, she will always be the RB who went through a wonderful makeup-filled journey with us.

How did you start?
I started way before makeup became the glamorous job that it is today. With no formal schooling or experience whatsoever, armed with just guts and passion, I applied at MAC cosmetics’ first flagship store. And the rest is history.

Where do you buy your makeup?
MAC Stores online and all over the world😊

Top 5 Must-haves in your kit?
1. MAC STUDIOFIX (forever!)
2. MAC Waterweight foundations
3. Mac Fix+
4. Mac lipsticks
5. MAC brushes

Skin Prepping
I am a firm believer of “beautiful makeup lasts with perfectly prepped skin” mantra. Everyone should really prep before makeup application. I start first by cleansing the face with MAC wipes, then dampen the face with fix+, then tone with MAC lightful C toner, then moisturize the eyes with fast response eye cream (my ultimate favorite!), hydrate the skin with Prep and Prime face visage and finally, I hydrate the lips with Mac’s lip conditioner.

Favorite makeup brands and why?
MAC. MAC. MAC!!! For me its a one stop shop, you’ll find everything you need inside that store. A very large selection for your makeup needs from consumer to pro!

Famous clients?
Hmmmm.. Just check my instagram: @rbchanco 💋

Secrets you wouldn’t share with others?
My lips are sealed.

Who would you love to put makeup on?
A big Hollywood star!
The likes of Beyonce, Kim K, Jlaw or Taylor Swift!

How do you keep up with new trends?
At MAC we have update trainings every month or so, it keeps me updated with the latest buzz in makeup!

What are the techniques from the past that you cannot live without?
Probably contouring and highlighting. Even before it became as big as it is right now, I have been so obsessed with framing the face!
