Which does better in removing stubborn eye makeup: Chanel’s Demaquillant Yeux Intense Bi-Phase Eye Makeup Remover or Bioderma Hydrobio H20?
Chanel Demaquillant Yeux Intense ($34): This is considered the best in the industry. What I love about this product is that it has no scent.
To use it, simply soak a cotton pad, and put it over your eye. Let the solution really sit and soak, and after a few minutes, swipe off the makeup by sliding down the cotton pad.
Bioderma Hydrabio H20($16): This drugstore brand has a slight scent to it, but it’s not offensive. This is very, very gentle and for sensitive skin.
To use it, do the same thing: soak the cotton pad with solution and let it do its work. I can even take off the makeup on my face with this. This removes everything, and I’ve noticed – unlike other products – that I don’t end up with this thin film on my face, like the Shroud of Turin.
Verdict: Both are ok. If you do get a little bit of solution into your eye, both won’t sting.
In terms of versatility, Bioderma has an edge. You can use this to remove makeup from your entire face, and not just the eye. If you’re tipsy after a party, you can easily do your skin cleansing regimen. Bioderma is a great and quick overall makeup remover. It helps to wash away deep-seated dirt and makeup, and takes off even stubborn mascara and the glue of your false eyelashes.
Based on price points, Bioderma is really inexpensive, and you can get it from Watsons. In addition, it doesn’t dry out the eye area, which is really important to me, because I have sensitive skin.
