17 Jul MY FIRST BRUSH COLLECTION.

When I wrote this, I didn’t know my mom was posting about brushes too. I guess, it’s a timely post since this is a tribute to her.

As many of you know, I am leaving Manila soon to chase my dreams. And with the many changes and transitions that come with that, I’ve been very nostalgic and emotional.

While I was sorting through my makeup, deciding which ones I was taking, getting rid of and keeping, I stumbled upon the first makeup brushes I ever owned. They were hand-me-downs from my mom. If you’re a true makeup junkie, you would appreciate the condition of these brushes – some of which were the very first collections from certain brands.

I remember very clearly when I got them. It was the summer before high school and my mom wanted to sort out her makeup. Doing the same thing I just did, she decided which ones she was keeping, getting rid of and handing down to me. I was lucky enough to snag about 20 of these brushes. And I guess you could say, the rest was history.

That summer was a pivotal moment in my makeup journey. Although it took me years to commit to become a makeup addict, that day was the beginning of discovering who I was through my passion.

For that and many other things, thank you mom.

You are welcome Kits! Those were good brushes and they still are. Might even be collectors items one day.
