25 Apr SUNBLOCK ROUTINE: I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO MY MOM
Of all the things that my mother had shared with me, I wish I had been more open to her “Skin Wisdom.”
When I was a little girl, all I did was stay under the sun, even when she told me not to. And of course, I’m paying for it now, because I have lots of pigmentation.
Pigmentation, essentially, is cumulative sun damage. The more that you’re exposed to sun when you’re growing up, the more damage that will surface later on. Needless to say, I should have listened to my mom and grandmother. Both of them really avoided the sun. In fact, my grandmother wouldn’t even go out without a hat or umbrella in hand.
Though you can manage skin pigmentation with peels and other regimens, in my opinion, nothing beats prevention. So don’t forget to put on your sunscreen every day! Start ASAP!
2. For extra skin protection, I use two powders. The first of these is the SMOOTH OPERATOR AMAZONIAN CLAY FINISHING POWDER, which gives a translucent, silky finish that sets makeup and diffuses imperfections.
