02 Jan THE BURGUNDY PALETTE REVIEW
I was apprehensive on buying Kylie’s first Kyshadow palette because I wasn’t too fond of the color selection. But because I was so curious about it, I decided to get the Burgundy Palette ($42) since the shades in this palette appealed to me more.
I really wanted to love this palette but even spraying MAC’s Fix + ($23) couldn’t do magic to the eyeshadow. The color selection is very similar to Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance and Huda’s Rose Gold Palette which I both love. So, if you do have those palettes, I suggest sticking to them. The swatches I saw online were so different from when I actually had to put the shadows on but then again, finger swatches always look better.
I’d rate this a 7/10 because although the color selection is amazing, there is too much talc in the formulation. It’s not as pigmented as I thought it would be and just a little blending here and there would erase almost all the color you’ve packed onto your lid. I just wish they would tweak the formulation a bit and make it creamier and more pigmented.
I guess what disappointed me most is that I’m not really and eyeshadow type of girl. So I did have a little bit of high expectations from this palette considering I loved the lipkits so much.
