17 Jun THE LASH LIFT EXPERIENCE.
My lashes have always been stubborn. They’re long and black but they’re straight. Even after curling it with an eyelash curler and putting on waterproof or water resistant mascara, it always goes back to being straight. It’s so frustrating that I gave up on curling them altogether when doing my makeup.
I’ve heard about the many things you can do to your lashes – extensions, perms, etc. but I’ve never been too keen to trying any of them out. Then I saw all those videos on Facebook about this lash lift and it looked interesting. Unlike perming your lashes, the lash lift does not have any harsh chemicals – its meant to be non toxic and hypoallergenic. It is also a more hygienic alternative to eyelash extensions. And it does lasts for 2 months.
My mom and I decided to give it a try. Kristine Lucas was kind enough to do home service for us. We both used different brands to see the difference. She tried Sugarlash while I tried Yumi (both $80). The 45 minute procedure was the same for us both:
Pads were placed under our eyes to separate the lower and upper lashes. She then applied a water based glue on our eyelid to hold the silicone mold in place. Kristine then began combing our lashes upwards also using some type of tweezers, making sure every single strand was lifted and in place.
She then begins the lifting process by applying the serum which she left on for about 14 minutes.
When that was done, Kristine wiped off the serum and went straight into the fixing serum which is made to hold your lashes upright. This one is about 10 minutes.
Next was the lash tint which was about 8 minutes. Kristine put the darkest shade on both my mom and I. She also tinted our lower lashes for some dramatic effect.
The last step was a nourishing treatment to keep our lashes conditioned. This was 4 minutes long.
Finally, after an hour of darkness, she took off the silicone mold and the pads under our eyes. While the light bothered me for a good 5 seconds, my mom had no problem getting up and opening her eyes. I went straight to the mirror to take a look at my lashes and I couldn’t believe how long they were. They were almost touching my brows with this lift!
Kristine used the maximum number of minutes for each step on my mom and I because we both had long and thick lashes. So if you do decide to do it, the procedure may not take as long as ours did. She also told us that we shouldn’t wet our lashes for 48 hours. And to avoid using anything oil based around our eye are for the lift to last as long as possible. She also gave us a keratin mascara to put on once a day to keep our lashes nourished and conditioned.
It’s been exactly one week since we did this lash lift and to be quite honest, I haven’t touched mascara since. My lashes looked thick and voluminous on its own. It’s amazing!
While there are many people who offer the service here, I do highly recommend going to Kristine Lucas. She trained under Elysee Zhadikpur in her Beverly Hills studio. Elysee has been applying this treatment on clients for over 3 years now. She learned the technique in Switzerland and brought it to La La Land which makes her THE lash specialist.
